Advantages of the 4100
Over the last 10 years there has been a trend toward using a microprocessor for all things including Gamma Switches.

Whilst these devices can be calibrated by technicians with little or no radiation knowledge they cannot be adapted to suit specific process characteristics and cannot be serviced except by the manufacturer. The worst feature is that the programming is designed to suit a "normal" application and cannot be changed to suit required speed of response and/or variability of process noise. If your application fails to fall within the definition of "normal" the unit will not calibrate.

To enable the process variable to be analysed the unit incorporates a 4–20mA output suitable to most PLC/DCS systems.

The 4100 GM Switch is designed to be as flexible as a system can be without losing sight of system simplicity. We also recognise that equipment will fail while the least knowledgeable technician is on duty and at a time most disadvantageous to continuous production. With this in mind we have socketed all active devices, provided circuits and component layouts and explained the operation in clear simple language.
